Natpro And Your Periods Restarting?

by Kris
(UK)

Hi :)

I bought some Natpro from a UK supplier a while ago and started to rub a small amount on my tummy every day. I think I am in peri-menopause as my periods are very light and infrequent (I'm 46). After three days, I started a heavy period with all the usual tummy aches I remember from a couple of years ago. This went on for six days at which point I stopped using the cream.

Is it normal to use Natpro and your periods restarting? On your site it says that women who are perimenopausal should use the cream every day but does this mean I will have a permananent period?

Many thanks,

Kris

Hi Kris Progesterone can upset the cycle when first starting it. Or cause one, rarely two, to occur when in Menopause. As you're now in Peri-menopause when cycles do become erratic, it also doesn't surprise me you did have a period. Oestrogen builds up the lining each month, as it causes cells to proliferate, progesterone inhibits mitosis. So is not involved in the build up of the lining. Evidently your lining had built up over the preceding months, and not fully shed each period. So the progesterone effectively cleaned your uterus out, a good thing. Once you reach menopause your periods will stop, as ovarian production of oestrogen declines. Because cycles are so erratic in peri-menopause, I do recommend using the progesterone daily, as it's impossible to follow the cycle. We do have more info on the Menstruation Cycle on this page. You don't have to only rub the cream on your tummy, it can be rubbed anywhere. Please see our page on Progesterone Misconceptions for more info on this. Take care Wray

Hi Kris I'm puzzled you didn't get a notification, but then the internet has a way of it's own. Just as I didn't get notification until your sad face came through! It would be wonderful if you did join us in spreading the word, there aren't enough of us. I think we have 200 distributors now, but the planet has 7 billion people on it! Take care Wray
