Lower progesterone tabs

Dear Wray, Went thru lap, hysterscopy, ova drilling and endo removal five months back. Conceived with fertility medications after two months and unfortunately endeded up with chemical pregnancy (5 weeks). Was taking Nidagen 200mg micronized progesterone tabs per day orally and also suffered from cramps and severe lower back pain.

Am suffering the same after ovulation this time, is the dozage for progesterone to be increased to 400 mg per day? what could be the cause of menstrual cramps and severe lower back pain? I am not sure if I have conceived as its too early to say, any harm in taking progesterone even if have not conceived? Is Sustan same as Nidagen (micronized progesterone caps? Pls help.

Hi there I think I have just answered you're previous query. Menstrual cramps are caused by a rise in inflammatory cytokines, amongst these are prostaglandins. Progesterone is a potent anti-inflammatory, it reduces levels thereby reducing the cramps. There's no harm in using progesterone before conception, in fact I recommend it. And yes Susten is progesterone too. Take care Wray
