Long periods that won't go away

I'm 23 and I've been experiencing long heavy periods since I started having periods, never have I had a normal period. I never know when it's coming or when it's going away.

A couple of years ago I was diagnosed with PCOS and after that I was told that I had a small endometrial polyp. My doctor decided to put me on Lo Estrin birth control, I tried it for at least half a year and everything was still the same I even became anemic. My periods now are longer than usual now they are lasting for 2 months, I try losing weight to see if it helps and it does but I can't keep my weight down.

I recently came across the benefits of progesterone cream and this website, I've been reading personal stories and how it has regulated them and some have even become pregnant, I really want to be regular and become pregnant. If anyone can give me advice on how to go about this. I'm still unsure on how much progesterone cream I should be applying each day. Thank you and I really love the website.

Long periods that won't go away

Hi Liliana Thanks for the kind words! We do have a web page on PCO, please have a look at it, as there are many natural things which can help. Heavy, bleeding for as long as two months will need a high amount. I suggest you try at least 200mg/day to begin with, you might need more. Some women have found 400mg/day is the minimum required, you will just have to try it and see. The web page I've given you gives details on how to use it. But before you do please see this web page on Oestrogen Dominance. Finally the last thing you needed was a contraceptive, it really can upset our ovaries and more. Please see our web page on Contraceptives Research papers.
Take care Wray
