kay menopause

I had took progesterone for several years as I had larger blood in the liner of uterus. After 3 years it was doing better and the lining had been 16 down to 5.9. Then last year they sent my progesterone up to 300mg and I felt good. But it seemed to me the pharmacy had changed the progesterone but they kept saying they hadn't. I had to ask every time each month for 6 month. I saw the doctor again but she said it was ok. The pharmacy did tell me this time they were putting in the wild yams or soy if I couldn't handle it. But, they don't say what their ingredients!
I went to another Dr. just to check my hormones and my progesterone was usually 2.9 and they went up to 4.9 but the estrogen used to be 28 now to 44!! I need Natpro but not available yet, and I used to use it along with the pharmacy's.
Please help me! Thanks, Kay When I go in for the test, I worry the lining was down to 5.9 but may have gone way up again to 14 or 16!! Ouch

Hi Kay

I am a little confused by 'had a longer blood in the liner of uterus'. I take it that you are referring to the building up of lining in the uterus which is caused by excess estrogen. If you are using a compounded progesterone cream made up by the pharmacy while Natpro is out of stock, please make sure that the cream does not come mixed with estrogen and/or testosterone you certainly do not need that. Your P:E(2) ration is 111:1 it should be around 600:1.

You state Menopause, but are you really in menopause? When was your last monthly period? A missed period for 12 months usually puts one in menopause. I am asking this as you keep referring to 'the lining', this only comes away if one is still having monthly periods.

What is your Vitamin D3 level? A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone.

No, I am in the 70 years and have not had any thing for ever! They found that I had a thickness and it was hard around 16 when they started and after taking Progesterone cream, after 2 years had gone down to about 5.9. She still wanted it lower at my age. I just was asking if the pharmacy could have made what was made different. No, they only give me progesterone. Nothing else.

Hi Kay

Thanks for clearing up your age. I am also pleased to hear that your cream only contains progesterone. Please use progesterone cream as advised on the Menopause and How to use Progesterone Cream pages. Please make sure that your Vitamin D3 level is correct as explained.
