Is Natpro safe for hypo and hyper thyroid?

by Mimi
(Singapore)

Hi Wray, I am interested to try Natpro. I want to know are there any adverse effects for those with hypothyroidism and as well for those with hyperthyroidism?

Also I've been taking chlorella and spirulina tablets daily. Will the use of Natpro disturb my intake system of these tablets? Thanks for the help.

Is Natpro safe for hypo and hyper thyroid?
by: Wray

Hi Mimi There are no adverse effects on the thyroid, either hyper or hypo. In fact it can help the thyroid in a number of ways. If hypo it does speed metabolism slightly, and if there is excess oestrogen, which suppresses thyroid function, it will help to suppress levels. If hyper progesterone is very calming, which takes the strain of the thyroid. Vitamin D is essential for maintaining normal calcium metabolism, low levels result in hyperparathyroidism, which suppresses thyroid activity. Low levels also lead to insulin resistance and a host of other problems. 30-50% of people have low vitamin D. A lack of vitamin D reduces the benefits of progesterone. It's essential to check levels, please see the Vitamin D council website. Excess insulin suppresses thyroid activity, but excess insulin over a prolonged time causes insulin resistance (IR), this prevents glucose getting into the cells where it?s needed and everything suffers, not just the thyroid. Some of the symptoms of IR are muscle weakness, tiredness/exhaustion, weight gain, foggy brain, feeling cold, an inability to concentrate, to focus. Similar to the symptoms of low thyroid activity. These symptoms are also those for low progesterone levels. Stress of any kind causes the adrenals to work over time. Check adrenal function, they have a bearing on how well the thyroid is working. If stressed, cortisol will be high, cortisol suppresses thyroid and liver function. Supplement with progesterone to help calm, reduce the stress and suppress excess cortisol, see here for more info on How to use progesterone cream. Adrenaline, another of our stress hormones made by the adrenals, also inhibits the conversion of T4 to T3, and increases rT3 production, check adrenaline levels. Progesterone helps calm and reduces adrenaline levels. There are now many endocrine disruptors on the planet, please see here. Please see this excellent paper here. Please see here too. Progesterone won't disturb either chlorella or spirulina intake. Take care Wray
