Post-partum Anxiety
by: Zillah

HI Ines,

You seem to be going through post-partum anxiety which many mothers experience. Some call it post-partum blues and could be caused by a combination of different things. Here's a site that could help you understand your current situation a little better - http://www.babycenter.com/0_postpartum-depression-and-anxiety_227.bc. Hope this helps.

PND and Anxiety
by: Joy

Hi Ines

You are suffering from Post Natal Depression (PND) which also explains your Anxiety. Progesterone is needed to balance the hormones. You state that you are now using progesterone and starting to feel better, but still suffer anxiety. It is most important that the correct progesterone concentration is used. The late Dr Dalton used to prescribe anything from 400-2400mg per day, depending on how severe symptoms are. Whilst progesterone is needed, it can’t do it on it’s own, it needs help in the form of calming amino acids which are all mentioned on the Anxiety page.

It is important that you read and understand Estrogen Dominance when using progesterone for the first time. Do you know what your Vitamin D level is as a deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone, it is also connected to every single cell and its formation in our bodies, including depression?

Please let me know what cream you are using and how much.

Progesterone Therapy
by: Joy

Hi Ines

Thanks for letting me know about the cream. You are not using enough progesterone, nothing less than 100mg of the correct progesterone concentration is needed per day, more if symptoms are severe as in the case of anxiety.

I am pleased that you are taking Vitamin D, but how much, you need to use nothing less than 5000iu’s per day as stated on the vitamin D page.

I do not recommend that you stop with progesterone or vitamin D, you need them both for better health. Once you feel stable enough, you can certainly reduce the amount of progesterone used, but never use less than 100mg per day. Please read How to use Progesterone Cream.
