I am 44 years old with mild symptoms

Hi there, I am 44 and have not had my period in 4 months. In addition my skin had a major breakout of cystic acne on my cheeks. I also have some foggy moments. I had my obgyn do blood work to check my hormone levels and everything was very good. I saw a dermatologist and she put me on Aczone and it's helped clear my skin up. I was still concerned that I've stopped my period and fear estrogen dominance is to blame. My doctor prescribed me 20 mg of progesterone cream a day which I've not yet started. I am afraid to make things worse especially after reading some of the sad stories on here. My weight is great and I exercise very regularly which is why my doctor believes my symptoms are mild. I should also mention I had my thyroid removed 12 years ago due to cancer. I am on 112 mg of synthroid and 5 mg of cytoml per day and have done amazing in terms of my weight. So do I dare begin using?
