Hysterectomy

by Elaine
(El Cajon, CA)

I am 56 years old and I had a hysterectomy, including the removal of my ovaries 10 years ago. I was placed on Premarin and 3 years ago was taken off the Premarin. I gained 25 pounds, have a lack of energy, "brain fog", trouble sleeping and I can no longer keep up with woman older than I in my hiking group.

I started a strength workout and can't seem to build up much muscle. I was diagnosed with osteoporosis in my hips 10 months ago. I want so much to feel better. Will this progesterone cream help me? I hope someone can help me and give me some good direction. Thank You!!

Insulin resistence
by: Wray

Hi Elaine. I'm glad you are no longer taking HRT, but do understand your problem. I would hope progesterone helps you, but it seems to me you've developed insulin resistance. Oestrogen/progestins do this to us. You might like to see this web page on it. Take care, Wray
