Forget Prednisone, I am doing Progesterone!

by Gretchen
(West Des Moines, IA)

I was informed by my sister-in-law physician about the benefits of progesterone cream. Given her zealous attitude about all things great, I thought she could be exaggerating a bit. Nope. She wasn't.

I felt the calmness and sense of well-being within the first 24 hours. No kidding. Better than any anti-depressant I have found!

Most interesting, it has quelled my lupus symptoms. It has provided tremendous amounts of energy and clarity. I feel very focused when I take it two weeks every month. If you have ever been on and loved Prednisone, you will understand what I am talking about. I have experienced significant breast and arm pit tenderness. I am trying not to be paranoid about it and it hasn't stopped me from ordering more... Good luck everyone!

Forget Prednisone, I am doing Progesterone!

Hi Gretchen I'm so delighted progesterone has helped you. It appears you could be using oral progesterone, as you mention taking it. This is the least effective Delivery system. Or you are using a cream, but the 'normal' amount recommended of 20-40mg/day. We have more info about this on our Oestrogen Dominance. I recommend 100-200mg/day, as anything lower merely stimulates more oestrogen. This causes water retention, it's also an inflammatory hormone, hence the sore breasts. Progesterone is an excellent diuretic, plus being an anti-inflammatory, see here, here, here, here, here and here. Progesterone does help lupus, so does vitamin D, in fact all autoimmune diseases are low in this nutrient. Please consider having a test done, for more info see the Vitamin D council and GrassrootsHealth websites. Take care Wray
