Do I need progesterone?

I'm 44, the last month I had two periods in one month. I had a blood test my estrogen was 299 and progesterone 1.9 this was four days after starting my last menustratiiom. I'm not even sure if that was a true period due to it being the second one of the month. My thyroid is high still. My vitamin d was good at 78. Testosterone 42, I am using a creme. My dr wants me to go ahead and use the progesterone ongoing without break. I'm still having periods. I feel super anxious and obsessive lately. My question is do I need the progesterone for where I was at in my cycle 1.9 would be pretty normal wouldn't it. Is it safe for me to take it without a break? I have been having extreme vaginal pain will the progesterone make it any worse? I'm very afraid to take the progesterone if I don't need it. I would appreciate any help of knowledge. Thankyou
