Concerned about tolerence

by Melissa
(St John's, Newfoundland, Canada)

Hi, I'm 32 years old and I'm using progestetone cream 200 mg/day from day 14 until my period bleeding ends. I started using it for very heavy periods but have since found it really helping with pms as well. I feel great so my concern is that I will build up a tolerence or it will stop working. Some sites state that if it's used for long periods of time it will eventually become ineffective or even make symptoms worse. Can you please let me know your thoughts on this? Much appreciated.

Concerned about tolerence

Hi Melissa I'm delighted the progesterone has helped you. You might like to read some of Dr Dalton's books, she coined the term PMS. I've used progesterone for nearly 20 years, my daughter too. She started using it at 14 and a half, and is now 34. We both find it's still effective. I use at least 200mg/day, but being in menopause I use it daily, Justine probably a bit less than me, and of course follows her cycle. Please see our page on Progesterone Misconceptions. And if you find the progesterone needs a bit of help to stop the heavy bleeding, please see the nutrient protocol at the end of our page on Menstruation. Take care Wray
