Can I increase from 125 mg to 250 mg

by Lori
(Etobicoke Ontario Canada )

I have several same fibroids and one large one 8.5 cm and today I found out that I have a complex ovarian cyst on my left ovary 3 cm.

My question is, can I increase my progesterone from 125 mg to 250 mg (125 mg in the am and 125 mg before bed?) Do I need to do this gradually or can I start right away? The only thing that worries me is that I have extreme fatigue, will it get worse?

Please help .... thanks Lori

Hi Lori

Yes you can increase straight away, it's reducing that needs to be done gradually. You may need to use more progesterone though but try and see if 250mg will work for you. The correct use of progesterone does help the body absorb the smaller fibroids, the larger fibriods often require surgery sadly. Please read the Fibroid page below. Fibroids are caused from oxidative stress and unless the Inflammation is dealt with you may battle.

Excess estrogen could be causing your cyst. That was the case with me.

Vitamin D3 is very important, it must be at optimal range which is between 70-100ng/mL and nothing less than 5,000iu's per day is needed. A deficiency reduces the benefits of progesterone.

Can I increase from 125mg a day to 250 mg
by: Lori

I don’t think I ovulate because I’ve been using the OPK and so far haven’t tested positive for ovulation. My periods are irregular so I use the cream day 14 however it hasn’t helped, So my question is:
To get a regular cycle and ovulate, to correct estrogen dominance do I use the progesterone every day.?

Hi Lori

If you have irregular periods it becomes difficult to use the cream by following your cycle. Please use the cream every day until your cycle returns to normal. When it does, please use at your luteal phase, i.e from ovulation until bleeding. It is always, in all women, 12-14 days long.

Scary Vitamin D Recommendations
by: Susan in Oakville

Hi have to comment on the previous post that you need Vitamin D supplementation of at least 5,000IU daily, and a range of 70 to 100 ng/ml.
This is actually NOT a helpful suggestion.
Canada measure Vitamin D in nmol/L and the optimal range is 100 to 120 nmol/L.
70 to 100 ng/ml as suggested would be equivalent to 175-250 nmol/L. Far too much.
Supplementation should be based on blood test results. It is very inexpensive to test. Supplementation of 5,000IU of Vitamin D3 in the absence of Vitamin K can create big problems...ie. calcium deposits in arteries! This is especially true when thyroid imbalances are present. Please see a holistic or integrative health practitioner to know what your unique situation requires.
