Balancing with bio-identical hormones

by Gina
(Pennsylvania)

I am 61 and have been using bio-identical hormones for almost 2 years in the form of troches that are placed in the mouth between the upper check and gums.

We have experimented with different ratios but my script is currently 1.5 ml bi-est, 1.75 ml progesterone plus DHEA and Testosterone. I think I had the swine flu and since then (about 3 months ago) have had candida that I cannot eradicate. Have changed my diet and it is better but not gone.

It has been suggested that too much progesterone could cause this problem. I also take thyroid meds. My progesterone levels from bloodwork were 21.4. Is the connection between too much progesterone and candida one that you are aware of?

Hi Gina. I don't believe you need either oestrogen or testosterone, and certainly not DHEA, it can cause ovarian cysts and cancer, as it increases the level of both oestrogen and the androgens, please see these papers...

Please see this
web page on combined hormones. Oestrogen also exacerbates candida, progesterone is protective, please see these...

Troches are not the most effective means of delivery, as about 50% is swallowed. Once it passes through the gut and liver most of it gets destroyed, please see these...

Injections, suppositories or creams are the best delivery systems. Please have a vitamin D test done, it could be this is all your thyroid needs, please see this web site. Take care, Wray.
