3 miscarriages in 2nd trimester and trying again!

by Jennifer
(Florida)

Dear Amanda, I wanted to explain to you my personal story with miscarriages. I have always had pre-menstrual symptoms my periods are clotty with intense cramps. In 1999 I had my first child via c-section, six years later in 2005 I had my second child from my second marriage. My husband and I have been trying to have a third child and in 2008 became pregnant but the pregnancy ended at 12 weeks no explanation five months later we tried again and this time had our second miscarriage at 14 weeks no explantation again.

We decided to have MRI's, Ultrasounds etc to figure out the problem b/c all our blood work indicated we are normal. Well it turns out I have 3 small fibroids but they said they are so small they couldn't remove them and we should try again. This time I researched about fibroids and understood that RED MEAT & DAIRY, something I ate daily produced more fibroids so I became VEGETARIAN and tried a product called FIBROID CLEAR but nothing seemed to work. My doctors said it was okay for me to try again and after 10 months we concieved again! My same pregnancy symptoms from my last two miscarriage resumed but my DOCTORS kept me hopeful. I was on baby aspirin, accupuncture daily, prenantal vitamins and 800mg of folic acid along with moderate exercise and we just miscarried again at 14 weeks 4 days. Test results of the pathology report said baby was normal :-(

I decided to detox my body and wait at least 2 years before TTC, I just bumped into your website last night and decided I had nothing more to lose as I have lost it all. I am not sure if there are any addtional suggestions you can suggest but I am desperate and if we decided to try again in 2 years I really want a healthy pregnancy and baby in the end.

After reading through your website and taking your quiz, (54 symptoms) I think the next time I will take the progesterone cream before, during, after pregnancy. If you have anymore suggestions please let me know.

3 miscarriages in 2nd trimester and trying again!
by: Wray

Hi Jennifer I can empathise with you as I had 5 miscarriages, all brought on by sudden stress. Including separating two dogs fighting! It would be pointless checking your blood levels after you've miscarried, that would not tell a thing. It needs to be done while pregnant. Most miscarriages occur within the first 4 months, the first 8 weeks having the highest level. It's more often than not a drop in progesterone levels which causes it. Stress being high on the list, as this causes progesterone levels to drop sharply. Fibroids are caused by excess oestrogen and a lack of progesterone, please see our page on Fibroids. Only red meat and dairy raised in factory farms would cause them, as the animals are all fed growth hormones, of which oestrogen is one. Food organically raised would not, besides the most important amino acid for foetal growth, taurine, is not found in veggies at all. Taurine is vital for the foetus, please see here, here and here. You are probably short of vitamin D too, most of us are, please have a test done. This is also vital for a foetus, please see here. The detox is a good idea, plus taking taurine, vitamin D and omega 3 fish oil. Plus of course progesterone, as I believe this is the most likely cause of your miscarriages. Please read through our page on Pregnancy. It's best to start it before you fall pregnant, as oestrogen dominance symptoms can occur and you don't want these while pregnant. So many women are given it only when they are 6 weeks pregnant, and suffer the consequences. For more info on this please see our page on Oestrogen Dominance. Take care Wray
